We didn't get mention on the ticket or the advertising but we did
open the show. It's a good thing too because the promoter forgot to supply a p.a. (we took
care of that) Freddie was ok, tho a wee bit inebriated, but McCoy was just like God. He
had a young Wilby Fletcher on drums and an orgasmic Guilherme Franco on percussion.
Guilherme asked if he could use my new LP conga and tumbador, and I excitedly agreed, then
he beat the shit out of them with sticks. No damage and it sounded really good. It's the
first time I saw a percussionist spread out all his stuff on a large picnic blanket.
